Dax Shepard is not a ring-wearing type of man.
On Friday (Sept. 19), the “Parenthood” star stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” to promote his film “This is Where I Leave You,” but ended up talking about a lot more than his new role, like how he has a bell tattooed on his ring finger in honor of his marriage to Kristen Bell.
“I don’t like wearing jewelry, but I felt obliged to warn all the men that I’m taken,” says Shepard. “So, I thought a tattoo would be fitting. And her last name conveniently is an object I could tattoo.”
And because the bell wasn’t already sweet enough, the tattoo also boasts the letters “K,” “L,” and a “D.” The “K” for Kristen, the “L” for their daughter Lincoln, and, as he jokingly says on the show, the “D” for “Dellen Egeneres.” But, hey, who knows — the couple is expecting their second child, so they could actually end up naming the baby after the talk-show host.
After talking about his unique ring and his not-so-secret crush on Brad Pitt — “I mean if I had to step outside the confines of my marital bond, he would probably be the best guy to do it with” — Shepard touches on the topic of his nude scene in his new film.
“You would think they would put the beautiful girl on top so we can all see her,” says Shepard. “But no way! They put the big galoot on top and they’re shooting right there. It is very scary.”
“This is Where I leave You” hits theaters Sept. 19.
