Just in time for the holidays, two of America’s favorite TV families will be coming together for mini-reunions on Lifetime.
Reginald VelJohnson and Jo Marie Payton, who played Carl and Harriette Winslow on the family sitcom “Family Matters” from 1989 to 1998, will appear together in Lifetime’s “The Flight Before Christmas” this month. The two will portray innkeepers in a story about two traveling strangers — played by Mayim Bialik (“The Big Bang Theory”) and Ryan McPartlin (“Chuck”) — who meet on an airplane before getting stranded together in a Montana town.
Both VelJohnson and Payton have been appeared in other acting roles since the ’90s sitcom, but this will be their first onscreen appearance together after left “Family Matters” halfway through its final season in 1997.
Also coming together this holiday season are Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter of “Family Ties.” The two will appear on the network in “Becoming Santa” as Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The story follows their daughter, played by Laura Bell Bundy (“Hart of Dixie”), after she brings her toy designer boyfriend home for the holidays to meet her parents in the North Pole.
“The Flight Before Christmas” premieres Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. on Lifetime. “Becoming Santa “premieres Dec. 12 at 8 p.m. PT/ET on the same network.
