steven spielberg minority report fox gi FOX gives Steven Spielberg's 'Minority Report' a put pilot order

The “Minority Report” TV series Steven Spielberg wants to make, based on the 2002 movie of the same name, looks like it could become a reality. Deadline reports the series has been given a put pilot order at FOX.
The series is believed to act as something of a sequel to the Tom Cruise-starring film, taking place 10 years later as one of the “Precog” psychics tries to lead a normal life while being haunted by visions of crime. The psychic will work with a detective haunted by her past.
A put pilot commitment means the network faces paying a penalty if they don’t air the episode. In this case, Deadline says the penalty is around $1 million. The project is produced by Spielberg’s Amblin TV with “Godzilla” writer Max Borenstein penning the pilot.
