galavant joshua sasse series premiere abc 'Galavant' and 'Agent Carter' ride into ABC's midseason scheduleABC will help fans of “Once Upon A Time” and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” fill the voids left by those two shows going on hiatus for the winter with two new series debuts.

Sticking with the fairy-tale theme on Sunday nights, “Galavant” a heroic series from Dan Fogelman (“Crazy, Stupid Love”) and Disney composer Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid”) will premiere Sunday, Jan. 4. “Galavant” tells the story of a young hero played by Joshua Sasse who is trying to get the love of his life (Mallory Jansen) back from the evil King Richard’s (Timothy Omundson) clutches. Think of it as a fairy tale with music and a strong comedic twist, a la “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” If that isn’t reason enough to watch, stay tuned for a guest-starring appearance by John Stamos as a knight in shining armor.
