Drake Bell & Josh Peck will have a “Drake & Josh” reunion on an upcoming episode of Fox’s “Grandfathered.” Hug me, brotha!
It will be the first time for the two actors to appear onscreen together since playing stepbrothers on their Nickelodeon show that ended in 2007. It’s not an official reunion since Peck has a new family on the Fox comedy, with John Stamos playing Peck’s long-lost father and grandfather to his baby girl.
The network announced that Bell will play a flashy tech investor, whom Gerald (Peck) and Vanessa (Christina Milian) seek in order to put their new app idea into full swing.
Nearly eight years have passed since Nickelodeon aired the final episode of “Drake & Josh.” The series followed the hilarious adventures of two teen stepbrothers that couldn’t be more than different. Bell can be remembered as the cool brother that was popular with the ladies, while Peck’s character had a deep infatuation with Oprah Winfrey and plenty of random loud outbursts.
“Drake & Josh” ran from 2004 to 2007 for a total of 57 episodes and launched the career of both the two leads — who were regulars on “The Amanda Show” starring Amanda Bynes — as well as the career of Miranda Cosgrove. The latter would go on to headline Nickelodeon’s popular series “iCarly.”
This much-needed reunion follows that of fellow Nickelodeon stars Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson, who reprised their popular “Good Burger” sketch on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The two also had a four-year stint on Nickelodeon with their own show, entitled “Kenan & Kel.”
The “Grandfathered” episode guest starring Drake Bell is scheduled to air in Spring 2016 on Fox.
