Prepare for the next sequel to Disney Channel hit TV movie, “High School Musical.” This time, the network has decided to document the musical numbers from the East High Wildcats as well as the school’s arch rival, the West High Knights, in a new TV movie.
The franchise recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary for Disney Channel’s most successful TV movie. It originally starred Zac Efron, Corbin Bleu, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale.
The network has already began a nationwide casting call to search for its newest stars. Disney Channel also reveals that the forthcoming installment will “continue the story” of the franchise’s last theatrical release, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year.”
“‘High School Musical’ is part of Disney Channel’s DNA,” Disney Channel President Gary Marsh states in a press release. “It embodies all that we stand for. As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce ‘the start of something new’ as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the ‘High School Musical’ franchise.”
