At the end of "iZombie" Season 2, something came to pass that was a long time coming. After spending two years in the dark about what was really going on in Seattle, Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) learned that not only are zombies real but they're everywhere. What's more, he learned his own partner and friend Liv (Rose McIver) was among the walking dead.

With that secret out, it's going to radically change the dynamic between the two characters, as well as Clive's role in Team Z as a whole.

"They're on the same page. This is the first time in three seasons, or well, two seasons, and this is the third one, that they've been on the same page, so it definitely brings them closer together," Goodwin says during a visit to the show's Vancouver set. "It's been fun and interesting to play."

It won't all be smooth sailing, though. "Just knowing what Liv's personality, knowing that it's because she's eating these people's brains. That's also a process for him to get used to that," he explains. "He's completely grossed out at the beginning, but he starts to get a little bit used to it."

With everything now out in the open, the team's entire dynamic's changing with Liv emerging as the leader. With the future of zombie kind on the line, this evolution of her character is coming at the exact right time.

"I think Liv has been able to take on a leadership role with this group of people, primarily because now they all show [support]," McIver says. "I think you're able to lead with much more confidence when you know that the people who you're working with are all well-informed, they're all on your team."

It's a team she's going to desperately need, given that a war between humans and zombies seems to be brewing. With an organized group of zombies looking out for their own best interests, and the living scared of a possible apocalypse, Liv's going to need her friends more than ever as she navigates what is becoming an increasingly more dangerous world.

"iZombie" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
