Amidst mixed reviews for Sunday’s Oscar broadcast (Feb. 27), host James Franco was left mysteriously missing from his very own after-party.
Prior to Oscar night, Franco hyped his new LA bar, The Writer’s Room, where he promised a private performance and an after-party that would be “going down.” But come Sunday night, Franco was nowhere to be found.
The Best Actor nominee jetted as quickly as he could, tweeting from LAX around 11 PM, “It was fun! Have to be back for class.”
According to E! News, it wasn’t so much class that kept him from partying — it was embarrassment.
“Apparently he was really embarrassed and not in the mood to face criticism about the [Oscars],” a “close source” says. Adding that partygoers had “no clue” Franco wouldn’t be showing up to his bar that night.
Fair enough. There have been some harsh words thrown out there about our boy Franco’s performance, but we still remain loyal. Hang in there!
