Joe Rogan isn’t happy at all about TV Land’s decision to pull “Dukes of Hazzard” off the air due to its use of the Confederate flag on the iconic General Lee. So upset in fact, the comedian and TV host took to Facebook to voice his disdain in a particularly scathing rant.
“‘The Dukes Of Hazzard” was about a lot more than just that s****y paint job on one of the most beautiful muscle cars the good lord ever inspired man to create, it was about tradition,” he writes. “That show started the tradition of the most iconic piece of clothing our nation ever produced; The Daisy Duke shorts.”
Rogan’s rant is just the latest Confederate flag fallout to come as a result of a racist shooting at a church in Charleston, S.C. After the June attack, the flag was removed from flying at the South Carolina Statehouse, and several merchants including Amazon, eBay, Walmart and Sears have ended their ties to the flag.
“Labeling anyone who has the flag a ‘racist’ seems unfair to those who are clearly ‘never meanin’ no harm,'” “Dukes” star John Schneider said defending the series’ use of the flag to The Hollywood Reporter.
