The “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade” is a Turkey Day tradition, and every year the parade is filled with celebrities making appearances. 2015’s biggest star was set to be Justin Bieber, but according to “Entertainment Tonight,” the “Purpose” singer had to cancel his pre-taped performance when a personal emergency required that he stay in Los Angeles.
That also means that Bieber will no longer be making his prescheduled performance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” which he apologized for on Twitter.
The talk show host was understanding about the cancellation, at least judging by Bieber’s thankful response to him. “Sometimes life kicks our a** and we need to deal with it,” writes Bieber, also promising that he would be on the show soon. “I look forward to making it up to you soon,” he writes.
In an unconfirmed report from a Hollywood Life source, Bieber could have still been a part of the parade. According to their source, “It was a scheduling conflict, something came up and he had to stay in LA,” and that Bieber offered to film in Los Angeles instead.
However, CBS decided that if he couldn’t be in New York City to tape his performance and make his “Late Show” appearance, that they’d rather move forward with a Biebs-free “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.”
