Kate Beckinsale cleared the air on “Conan” last night, explaining why exactly she finds it funny to send naked pictures of Michael Sheen to their 17-year-old daughter, Lily Mo Sheen.

“My daughter and I are both from the school where we think a naked man is very funny in the right circumstances,” Beckinsale says, “Not as a subtle surprise jumping out at you in a dark alley, but it’s a funny thing.”

Apparently what’s even funnier than a naked man is a photo of Lily’s naked father from a play he performed in several years ago.

“Sometimes in a low moment she’ll text me that picture or I’ll text it to her… If I sense that she’s feeling low, I think, ‘You know what, she could use Mike in the bath.’ It works very well most times,” Beckinsale says.

As far as naked dads go, we think there are a few alternatives that would probably make a 17-year-old girl smile more.

Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence.”
