It’s quickly becoming a thing on “The Late Late Show” that host James Corden does a lot of fun bits that involve singing and dancing. Apparently when a Tony-winning Broadway performer takes over as the host, celebrities are lining up to do goofy musical sketches with him. Go figure.
This Tax Day special with Katharine McPhee, done like one of those cheesy network TV Christmas specials, will definitely put a smile on your face. It’s funny, it’s entertaining and, of course, Corden and McPhee can both sing like songbirds (McPhee especially), so it’s just delightful.
It’s hard to pick a favorite parody carol. It’s really a toss-up between “The 12 Deductions of Tax Day” and “Baby, Withhold Your Tax.”
“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is a lot less date-rapey when it’s about taxes.
