It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, straight or sexually fluid, everybody wants to find true love. So when Logo announced on Tuesday morning (July 12) they are in the midst of producing an all new reality competition dating series entitled “Finding Prince Charming,” it wasn’t the fact that it would be starring a gay man that stood out. It’s the fact that the network is having all the competitors live together in the same house like they do on the “The Bachelor.”
Just imagine a mansion filled with gay men, all forced to live together with no internet, no phone and no portal of distraction from the outside world. Who’s to say the won’t just say, “Screw it,” and fall for another fellow in the house? Even the straight guys on “The Bachelorette” get so bored and lonely while waiting for their dates, they form tight bromances for some much-needed intimacy.
Perhaps, this is the added drama Logo is hoping will happen. It wouldn’t be hard to have each suitor stay separately in a luxury apartment building somewhere. But the men would still find a way to hang out with each other, mingle, and
probably maybe hook-up during off-camera time. So instead of pretending that won’t happen, Logo is going to capitalize on it.
Hosted by Lance Bass, and set to debut this fall, 13 handsome suitors will move into a house to compete for the love of a man who is being described as “one of the nation’s most eligible gay heartthrobs.” And just like “The Bachelor,” one by one men will be voted off until “Mr. Prince Charming” picks the guy for whom he wants to enter into a committed relationship. That is, if the the other suitors don’t fall in love with each other first.
