Leah Remini is sitting down with ABC News’ “20/20” Friday (Oct. 30) to discuss her severing ties with the Church of Scientology.

In a sneak peek of the interview, the actress says that leaving the church means giving up everything.

“The decision to leave is you are giving up everything you have worked for your whole life. I feel that people need to understand this has been my whole life and i want them to understand how it happens,” she explains.

Remini goes on to say that the church alters your mindset, so that you view things as Scientology against the world.

“As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset becomes ‘us against them,'” she says. “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself — you are evil.”

When “20/20’s” Dan Harris asks her, “If you knew Tom Cruise was watching this, what would you say to him?”, Remini looks serious … and to find out what she says, tune in Friday, Oct. 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
