Madchen Amick appears to be confirming her return to “Twin Peaks” via Instagram and Twitter, much to fans’ delight.
“I’ll see u in the trees,” Amick tweets with a link to an Instagram video of her view from a plane. If that feels vague, she follows up with another tweet that says, “…back to the land of #peaks.”
Amick played Shelly Johnson, a waitress at the Double R Diner who is having an affair with Laura Palmer’s (Sheryl Lee) boyfriend Bobby Briggs (Dana Ashbrook) in the original series. In the last season of “Twin Peaks,” Shelly’s husband Leo (Eric Da Re) fell into a catatonic state, allowing Shelly and Bobby to flaunt their relationship in front of him as revenge for his abusing Shelly.
Amick returns to the series being helmed by original creator David Lynch, who is writing and directing the revival. Amick is just the latest original cast member to return to the show. She’ll be joining Sherilyn Fenn, Kyle MacLachlan, Ashbrook and more veterans alongside Amanda Seyfried in a new mystery role.
“Twin Peaks” is already in production as Amick flies out to join the cast. It’s speculated to air in 2016 on Showtime.
