They’re beautiful, they’re wealthy, and their lives are filled with fabulous functions and fraught with drama — but these ladies represent a whole different breed of Atlanta wife and mom.
Now Toya Bush-Harris, Mariah Huq, Quad Webb-Lunceford, Kari Wells, Dr. Jacqueline Walters and Dr. Simone Whitmore — stars of Bravo’s newest reality series “Married to Medicine” — are eager to show the world what’s it’s really like to be part of this exclusive world.
The show, which premieres Sunday, March 24, follows the lives of these six charismatic women as they try to maintain their friendships while balancing successful careers, family obligations, charitable endeavors and active social lives in a city that demands a lot of its doctors and their spouses.
While Bush-Harris, Webb-Lunceford, Huq and Wells are all married to doctors, Whitmore and Walters have busy OB-GYN practices of their own, lending an other-side-of-the-coin perspective to some of the issues faced by their friends. But, says Wells, a beautiful British-born former model and working mom of two who is married to orthopedic surgeon Duncan Wells, viewers shouldn’t assume that being married to medicine makes life a cakewalk.

“I think that the biggest misconception is that we all have an easy life as wives of doctors — or that we married into money,” Wells tells Zap2it of agreeing to putting her life before the cameras. “I am looking forward to the viewers getting to know my story, because it is not at all what anyone would think of just by looking at me. And I am looking forward to hopefully inspiring other people to take charge of their lives and their finances.”
But Wells says she most welcomed the opportunity to spotlight the charities to which she and her husband are so devoted. “It was the main reason that I did the show,” she says. “I love to bring attention to my charities, including Thriving Children and Doctors Without Borders. We all have a duty to give back in life.”
