dominic cooper hayley atwell agent carter gi Marvel confirms 'Agent Carter' will star Dominic Cooper's Howard StarkBecause Hayley Atwell saying so wasn’t enough of a confirmation, Marvel.com has revealed that Dominic Cooper will officially officially be joining the cast of “Agent Carter.” He, as well as Atwell, will be reprising his role from “Captain America: The First Avenger.”

Cooper plays a young Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark and a founding member of SHIELD. In the “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 2 premiere, Atwell’s Peggy Carter referenced Stark, though he didn’t make an appearance in the flashback.
When Zap2it spoke with Cooper while he was promoting his BBC miniseries “Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond” back in January 2014, he said that he would absolutely take a role in “Agent Carter” if there was a place for him.

“I would like to do any way possible that Howard Stark can make a return. He’s such a fun character to play, and I really believe that he could make quite an exciting character to watch more of,” he said. “The flawed entrepreneur, the kind of crazy playboy, from that era is an exciting concept. I saw Hayley recently, and I think that the ‘Carter’ thing is possibly going to happen, so yeah. I’d love to. I wouldn’t hesitate.”
“Agent Carter” also stars Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj as SSR Agent Daniel Sousa, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis and Shea Whigham as SSR Chief Roger Dooley. It will premiere during “Agents of SHIELD’s” midseason hiatus.
