Two polar opposite waves of awesome are going to converge on “SNL” on Nov. 21 when Matthew McConaughey takes over hosting duties and Adele pairs as the musical guest.
It’s the pre-Thanksgiving episode for the sketch show where McConaughey may be promoting his new film “Sea of Trees” and Adele will be continuing the media blitz for her highly-anticipated third studio album.
McConaughey hasn’t hosted the show since 2003 (the Dixie Chicks were his musical pairing then). His monologue then was a riff on getting high with “SNL” cast members, though it was four years after his iconic naked-bongos arrest.
Jim Carrey already stole a lot of laughs when he parodied McConaughey’s Lincoln commercials in October 2014, but there’s still plenty to poke fun at between McConaughey’s rambling 2014 Oscar speech and his general laissez faire attitude.
Meanwhile, Adele will most likely bring on a fresh set of tears for anyone that hasn’t been crying to her new single, “Hello.”
