Matthew McConaughey is a huge movie and TV star these days. But that wasn’t always the case. Many years ago, the Oscar-nominated actor got his start as a re-enactor on “Unsolved Mysteries” in 1992.

In the long-running crime-mystery show, McConaughey plays murder victim Larry Dickens. Back in August of 1978, this unfortunate young man was killed by a gun-toting sex offender.

The confrontation between Larry and his killer comes after the latter went after some neighborhood kids while not wearing pants. Larry went and took the man’s keys so he wouldn’t get away, but unfortunately, the flasher had a gun.

The indecent exposure man shot Larry four times in the chest and once in the head in order to get those keys back. When Larry’s mom went back in to talk to the emergency operator, pantsless man came at Larry again, this time with a shotgun.

Impressively, none of the bullets marred McConaughey’s perfect chest. This is a good thing, considering the film career that followed — McConaughey’s star-making role in “Dazed and Confused” came one year later.
