Sometimes lines on “The Mindy Project” are just too funny for Mindy Kaling to keep a straight face.

Case in point, the scene in Season 3 when Richard Gant, who plays attorney Melville Fuller, notes that Mindy Lahiri spent more money on emojis than rent. Both Kaling and Ike Barinholtz, who plays Mindy’s lovable sidekick Morgan, can’t keep it together during the scene.

“Oh lord,” Gant says the second time they break the take.

Also in the minute-long tease of the gag reel: Chris Messina makes the ultimate sad face while shooting with Glenn Howerton, and Kaling gets possessive during a sex scene-gone-wrong at Danny’s apartment.

Universal Studios released “The Mindy Project” Season 3 DVD — complete with full gag reel — on Tuesday, Aug. 25. It should help tide fans over for the premiere of Season 4 on Hulu on Sept 15.

Barinholtz recently teased to Zap2it that Mindy will give birth to her and Danny’s baby in the second episode of Season 4. “We’ve already shot it. It was very emotional. Morgan is very involved,” he says.

“Without speaking out of turn, I think you won’t see the baby a lot. I think the presence of the baby will generate some story ideas once in a while, but I don’t think now the show is about the baby. I think the show is about Mindy,” Barinholtz continues. “We want to use the baby really as a catalyst to get the story off, but no one wants to see episodes week after week of Mindy like, ‘Aww!’ because you would throw up.”
