mistresses season 3 alyssa milano not returning 'Mistresses' Season 3: Alyssa Milano not returning“Mistresses” fans got some good news Tuesday (Sept. 30) when ABC announced it had renewed the summer soap for Season 3. Alas, it has been followed by the news that star Alyssa Milano will not be returning for the third season.

Milano writes on her website: “After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of ‘Mistresses’ in
Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons. It’s with a heavy heart that I
have decided that I can’t relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a
mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.”

ABC has confirmed Milano’s departure to Zap2it.

This is particularly interesting news in light of the way Season 2 left things. In the season finale, Joss finally admitted her feelings for Harry and the two of them consummated their relationship on the beach, as Joss’s sister and Harry’s ex-wife Savi (Milano) made her way down to where they were locked in an embrace.

At the time, the creators of the show told Zap2it that Savi “truly believes that her heart lies with Harry” and that the betrayal by Joss and Harry “is going to destroy her, so we’re going to see something from her we’ve never seen before.”

Savi’s heartbreak will certainly be an easy way to explain Milano’s absence, though it’s a shame the executive producers won’t get to explore the sisters’ struggle, since they said after the finale that they’re teed up “for a potentially great season of conflict between
the sisters. What we’re look forward to in Season 3 is really tearing at
the fabric of that relationship and what it does to the group and how
that splits up our women.”

Also, what does this mean for Dominick? If Savi is gone, how do they keep Jason George incorporated into the show, which was the plan for Season 3: “Dom’s love for her does not wane. He will try to get her back and he
will try to remain in her life. We adore Jason George and there is still
so much left to be played with him.”

What do you think, “Mistresses” fans? Will the show be the same without her?
