ncis new orleans carrier michael weatherly 'NCIS: New Orleans' 'Carrier': First 'NCIS' crossover is a fun joint effortIt only took two episodes for “NCIS: New Orleans” to have a crossover with its parent show, “NCIS.” Obviously “NOLA” was launched last spring with a crossover, but “Carrier” is the first spinoff episode that sees some original agents get involved.

During the 8 o’clock hour, we watched the preceding “NCIS,” and as fun as it was to watch director Vance (Rocky Carroll) and Abby (Pauley Perrette) appear via video and Agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) appear in person on “NOLA,” it would have been cool if the first episode in the dynamic duo had launched the crossover.

Perhaps we could have seen Vance get the call from “NOLA” after leaving the hospital or had the D.C. team get an alert about a medical emergency in New Orleans and leave it up to the second hour to show us what the emergency was. It’s not a huge problem or anything, but it would have been fun.

Either way, it was still enjoyable to watch the old favorites interact with the newbies. Hopefully this isn’t so common an occurrence that it wears out its welcome, but it’ll be nice to see occasionally, especially if “NCIS” starts reciprocating.

What did you think of the joint effort?
