It’s no secret that Jess is the loving, if slightly hair-brained mom of the group on “New Girl,” but she is also apparently the only thing keeping the circus in line. Zap2it got two exclusive peeks at Tuesday’s (Jan. 26) episode and by the looks of things, everything falls apart. When Jess gets called away on jury duty, the apartment pretty much falls apart, as the group is left to manage their lives without her. The episode is aptly titled, “No Girl.”

“So everybody plays their role in this little dysfunctional family on ‘New Girl,'” says Hannah Simone (Cece Parekh). “The role that Jess plays becomes abundantly clear when she disappears and goes to jury duty, and we all fall apart into a heaping mass of chaos.”

While Jess (Zooey Deschanelstruggles to perform her civic duties, Nick (Jake Johnson) attempts to rent out her room on Airbnb, much to Schmidt’s (Max Greenfield) chagrin. Fred Armisen guest stars as his kooky new visitor, who is quite clearly ten kinds of crazy.

Meanwhile, Cece tries to calm Winston (Lamorne Morris) down when he recruits her to help him figure out if KC (Kiersey Clemons) is cheating on him.

“New Girl” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX
