The new web series “Namaste, B****es” is using comedy to reveal the dark side of yoga, and a new trailer is giving viewers a first taste of what’s in store.
Created by former yoga instructor Summer Shirey, the six-episode series follows recently NYC transplant Sabine (Shirey) as she tries to break into the Los Angeles yoga scene. Instead of a warm welcome, she lands a trial teaching position at a small studio not long before a corporate yoga studio, Yoga World, opens up close by.
“Sabine’s moral compass is tested by rival teachers, greedy studio owners, judgmental students, and her own self-destructive tendencies. When she finally ‘speaks her truth’ to her students, will she be destroyed or catapulted to greatness?” the synopsis teases.
“Namaste, B****es” also stars “Twilight’s” Edi Gathegi, Parvesh Cheena, Luke Matheny, Alex Dawson, Adele Rene, Keirin Brown, Oren Skoog, Caitlin Talbot, Henry McMillan and Tania Verafield. It will premiere in fall 2015.
