The minds behind “Orange Is the New Black” and the show’s huge cast of female inmates have conspired to bring Christmas cheer behind bars as the cast of characters recite a rhyming take on the classic “Twas the Night Before Christmas” filled with “OITNB” inside jokes.

Just try not to laugh at the idea of old Saint Nick dressed in bright red prison jumpsuit as the Litchfield ladies beat him up in order to grab all of his gifts before Caputo catches them.

A mix of funny and sentimental, the video is just like the show’s Season 1 Christmas special, which features an unexpected choral arrangement starring the otherwise silent Norma busting out some Hank Williams and Piper beating up Pennsatucky.

And another reason to be excited about this glimpse of TV’s favorite prisoners — judging from some of the cast members’ hair styles, it looks like this was filmed while they were working on Season 4 of the Netflix series, which usually premieres in early June.

Noticeably, while most of the main cast members feature in the video, there’s no Ruby Rose as Stella, Laura Prepon as Alex, or Natasha Lyonne as Nicky. The real Christmas gift would have been to find out if those popular characters will be returning for the upcoming season.
