‘The People v. O.J. Simpson might be one of the most popular shows on television at the moment, but not everyone involved feels up to recounting the events that occurred two decades ago.
Khloé Kardashian — who has been portrayed in the series at a young age — says during her FYI show,”Kocktails with Khloé,” that she can’t bring herself to watch the series.
“I’ve seen all of the documentaries or, like, the rehashing of the footage of the O.J. trial,” she clarifies. “Just seeing my dad and everything again, I relived emotions. Like ‘Oh my God, I forgot the sound of my dad’s voice.'”
The 31-year-old also shares that as hard as it is for her to revisit the past, it must be even harder for O.J.’s kids to relive the murder of their mother, Nicole Brown Simpson.
Kardashian adds, “I understand why it came back. I just feel bad and I think I’m a little more sensitive to it because he was my uncle O.J. That’s always what I called him.”
The “Kocktails with Khloé” host also shares that she hopes to watch it eventually. She is especially curious about how her father is being portrayed onscreen by David Schwimmer.
“I definitely want to watch it and see how they portrayed my dad,” she continues. “It’s not that I won’t watch it, it’s that I have a little reservation.”
Khloé’s sister, Kim Kardashian West, has expressed that she has seen the docu-series along with their mother, Kris Jenner. In the series, Jenner is portrayed by Selma Blair.
“Kocktails with Khloé” airs Wendesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FYI.
