On Thursday (Oct. 30), “Today” welcomed three generations of women who have played Peter Pan — Sandy Duncan, who played the iconic role in 1966; Cathy Rigby, who played Peter Pan in various productions from 1974 to 2013; and Allison Williams, who is taking on the role for NBC’s “Peter Pan Live” later this year.

The two elder Peter Pan portrayers advise Williams that after the NBC broadcast, she should “go do it in a theater somewhere for a month,” with audiences full of children, to get the full experience. Watch the video above to find out what Williams says to that.

Below, watch a preview of the production. It features Williams and co-star Christopher Walken behind the scenes, doing rehearsals and shooting publicity photos for the production.

“Peter Pan Live” premieres Thursday, Dec. 4 on NBC.
