AMC’s highly anticipated “Preacher” series — possibly its weirdest show ever — is right around the corner from making its television debut. To put it bluntly, this program is straight up bonkers. But that is what you get when attempting to adapt the Garth Ennis/Steve Dillon comic book to the small-screen.

We had our doubts about the project when it was first announced, but since then, have slowly come around to the notion that the story of Jesse Custer, Tulip O’Hare and Cassidy may actually work on TV. Let’s not mince words here, though … this thing is bizarre. It should be.

Instead of spoiling the gist of this story — for those of you not in the know — we’re sharing the above video from AMC. Here, executive producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and showrunner Sam Catlin join stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun as they attempt to explain what this kooky show is all about.

As Catlin puts it, “It’s about a lot of things.” Welp, that clears it right up!

“Preacher” premieres on Sunday, May 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
