priyanka chopra jake mclaughlin quantico abc What if the terrorists on Quantico arent actually so terrifying?

All season on “Quantico,” we’ve been under the impression that the terrorists holding the Financial District in New York City hostage are the evilest of evils, and we’ve been rooting for Alex (Priyanka Chopra) to outsmart and defeat them.

But what if these terrorists aren’t actually so terrifying after all?

It’s difficult to tell who is on what team at this point in the game, but we’ve got a feeling the people who ended up in Indonesia during their holiday from The Farm might actually be the real bad guys in this situation.

Ironically enough, the two confirmed travelers to that country are Dayana (Pearl Thusi) and Leigh (Heléne Yorke), who had a very frank discussion about monsters and noble princesses in Sunday’s (Nov. 6) episode. Flash forward one year, and Leigh meets her seriously gruesome end after being questioned by the terrorists about her travel plans over the last year.

Maybe it’s just us, but keeping an eye on suspicious international travel sounds like a job for the real CIA… not a group of unknown attackers.

We’ve had concerns about Dayana and Leigh before, but could they actually be the double agents in this scenario? Could this whole scenario be a setup in order to weed out traitors? It would certainly make sense, given Miranda’s allegiance to this rogue group, and the revelation that Lydia (Tracy Ifeachor) isn’t exactly on Alex’s team; whose team she’s actually on at this point is anyone’s guess.

So are these terrorists stirring up panic in an attempt to steal hard drives? Or did they simply lure suspected double agents into a trap in order to ferret them out and exterminate them?

The one thing we keep coming back to is the decapitation of the first lady in the Season 2 premiere. It’s hard to believe anybody who does something like that could be on the side of the good guys.

It’s all food for thought moving forward, but we’re keeping our options — and our loyalties — open.

“Quantico” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
