After months of waiting, agonizing, guessing and speculating, “Quantico” finally revealed who has been blackmailing Alex (Priyanka Chopra) all season. And the terrorist is…. Drew?

Drew Perales (Lenny Platt) seems like a let down for many fans, especially considering he’s such a vanilla character.

His romance with Alex has been bland at best — but no one can compare to Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) really — and his backstory didn’t inspire much interest either. Sure, the red flags should have been going up when he shot and killed one of the Quantico attackers earlier in the year without breaking a sweat, but it just never occurred to most of us to look much deeper.

Unfortunately, that’s been his game all along.

After a quick catch-up on where he’s been during these flash forwards, Drew appears to be a sucker in the terrorist’s game, just like everyone else. He points the finger at Ryan, confirming the one truth fans never wanted to hear.

In a shocking turn of events though, Alex realizes Ryan’s innocence at the last moment, which is when Drew shows his true colors. A quick phone call (this time without the voice masking software) confirms that Drew has been the one planting bombs and acting as the mastermind in this convoluted scheme.

In all honesty, we’d have preferred the terrorist to be someone a little more interesting than plain-Jane Drew, who only came on the scene in the second half of the season. One of the original NAT’s or their professors would have packed a bigger punch, but we guess there’s something to be said for the unassuming, last-minute addition.

Plus, this is still “Quantico,” and there are two more episodes to go.

There’s a chance that this is yet another fake out, and Drew is either innocent or not working alone. We’re still not convinced Natalie is truly toast or that Liam has nothing to do with this whole plot.

“Quantico” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
