Alex (Priyanka Chopra) barely escaped with her life on Sunday’s (Oct. 30) episode of “Quantico,” and it seems like her luck might be running out when it comes to these masked terrorists inside the financial district of New York City.
However, her latest bout of luck came from one of these so-called terrorists, whose identity and motives for saving Alex’s life remains a mystery. Who could this masked woman be? We’ve got a pretty crazy theory that could end up clearing more than one name in this hunt for traitorous CIA agents.
Was it just us, or did the woman under the mask sound a whole lot like Nimah (Yasmine Al Massri)?
We already know Raina, Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) and the other CIA recruits are being held hostage by the AIC, but where has Raina’s twin sister Nimah been during the flash-forwards?
The fact that only Shelby (Johanna Brady) and Miranda (Aunjanue Ellis) have been part of the FBI task force assigned to counter the terrorist takeover in New York City made us think Nimah had resigned from the FBI or might have been reassigned. Her absence in the flash-forwards has certainly been hanging over the season so far, but is it possible that she’s simply gone undercover within the CIA to infiltrate the AIC?
If that’s the case, then Miranda might not be as evil as we’ve been led to believe.
It made absolutely no sense that Miranda would be so invested in taking down the AIC’s recruitment process at the Farm, only to be working in concert with them on this attack a year later.
We’d assumed she’d been turned somewhere along the way, but if Nimah really is under that mask, then we’re willing to bet Miranda knows all about it. Maybe Miranda simply switched tactics after striking out with Alex and Ryan at the Farm, sending Nimah in to directly infiltrate the AIC?
Our fingers are crossed for this option, since the alternative is that Miranda — and by extension Will (Jay Armstrong Johnson) — are truly evil, and have been working for the bad guys all along.
“Quantico” airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
