Disney week was off to kind of a ho-hum start on “Dancing With the Stars” — until Riker Lynch and Allison Holker took to the floor for a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed paso doble. The fiery number had insane production value and was easily Lynch’s best dance of the season so far.
The judges were over the moon about how terrific Lynch and his pro partner did this week:
Bruno Tonioli: “You’ve got an utter blockbuster on your hands. That was mad and wonderful, you stuck everything you had into that. A super production for a super talent.”
Carrie Ann Inaba: “That was a beast of a paso and you slayed it. Your best, best ever.”
Len Goodman: “This wasn’t ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ this was ‘Fast and Furious.’ You were fast and if you didn’t get back, I’d be furious.”
Julianne Hough: “That is what I call artistry. It was a combination of everything — technique, content, emotion, passion, showmanship, it’s everything. That is what artistry is about.”
The scores reflected the judges’ enthusiasm, as he was awarded 9s from Len and Julianne and 10s from Carrie Ann and Bruno. The 38 beat his previous high score by four points.
