This Thursday’s (April 13) episode of “Riverdale” is about to get fierce, as Veronica (Camila Mendes) faces off against Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) in a River Vixen dance off.

After showing up late for practice, Cheryl puts Veronica in the back of the latest Vixen routine, which is pretty much the cheerleading equivalent of a slap in the face. The back is for tall people and sucky dancers — duh — and nobody puts Veronica Lodge in the corner.

In order to win her spot back, Veronica challenges Cheryl to a dance off, with the other River Vixens voting on the winner. From the look on Betty’s face, we know who she — and the rest of the squad — will likely vote for…

What follows feels like a routine straight out of “Bring It On” — but what’s a high school drama without at least one dance off, right? With choreography from Canada’s “So You Think You Dance” veteran Paul Becker, you really can’t go wrong. Here’s hoping this little bit of friendly competition doesn’t end up turning into friendly fire.

On top of this excellent little dance off, we can also look forward to Molly Ringwald’s first appearance as Archie’s mom, Betty’s surprise birthday party for Jughead, more romantic woes for Archie and last but not least, a serious crisis of conscience for Veronica as she decides whether or not to take part in a deposition to help get her dad released from prison.

“Riverdale” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
