Ryan Gosling had some good sketches when he hosted “Saturday Night Live” on Dec. 5, but there was one sketch that had to be cut for time — “Cool,” starring Gosling, Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney.

In the sketch, which is designed to look like some kind of TGIF sitcom, Gosling and Bennett are best friends Aaron and Skyler who are stunned to see their nerdy schoolmate Dougie (Mooney) go from nerdy to cool with the help of his magic science machine, a la “Steve Urquel” from “Family Matters.” Dougie even calls himself “Dou-gae” now instead of Dougie.

Plus, there’s the added twist that Aaron is killed in a drunk driving accident. It’s a very special episode.

It’s not hard to see why this sketch didn’t make the cut — it definitely has nothing on “Clown Meat” or “Sex Number.”
