Mia Maestro is heading from zombie-ridden New York City to scandal-ridden Washington, D.C. “The Strain” actress is joining ABC’s “Scandal” for Season 5.
Deadline reports that, in true Shondaland style, details of the role are being kept a secret. It is noted that Maestro will have a “major recurring role.”
Maestro currently plays Nora Martinez on “The Strain.” She’s also had smaller roles in “Hannibal,” “Person of Interest” and “White Collar.”
“Scandal” Season 4 ended with Mellie (Bellamy Young) selling her soul to Rowan (Joe Morton), suitably ending her relationship with President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and sending him, finally, into the arms of Olivia (Kerry Washington).
“Scandal” Season 5 premieres Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
