Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi: It’s made me a lot more humble. I’m not much of a huge people person, and I’ve noticed now I’m much more nice to people. I take my time out to smile. It’s made me more humble. You hope people wouldn’t judge. The best thing about reality TV is [the audience gets] to watch you grow, as a process. You begin with a persona, and they see you come out of it.

Zap2it: Do you still keep contact with your ancestral culture in Iran?

Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi: I was born and raised here — I’m as Americanized as it comes — but I go to Iran every single year, because it’s an amazing culture. I’m not 100 percent with the government, but it’s a beautiful culture.

Zap2it: What does the rest of your family think of you being on television?

Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi: Last summer, my dad was with the family, and they were in Spain, and an American lady came up to my dad and said, “Aren’t you on that show?” My dad was like, “This has got to be impossible.” In Spain!

In Iran, my mom’s uncle is one of the most famous poets and artists, and my uncle, my aunt’s husband, is one of the most famous actors, so that fame thing was always around. They’re excited. I think everybody is happy that I’m happy. That’s the bottom line for my family — the minute they see me in something that’s going to bring me down, they’ll be against it 100 percent.
