If you’re worried about getting spoiled for the season finale of “The Shannara Chronicles,” then read no further. Major spoilers about character deaths, tree resurrections and “I love you’s” lay ahead.

While there is not yet a confirmed second season of “The Shannara Chronicles” fans everywhere are no doubt dying to get that renewal news now that nearly every character has been left with a cliffhanger that would drive even the most lenient viewer nuts.

After Amberle (Poppy Drayton) emerges from the Bloodfire with the knowledge that she is the seed for the new Ellcrys, the future of our trio couldn’t seem to get much bleaker. Never say never though, because almost immediately afterwards, Eretria (Ivana Baquero) decides to sacrifice herself to the trolls to help Wil (Austin Butler) and Amberle escape back to Arborlon.

Just who is underneath that troll helmet at the end of the episode? It will remain a mystery while we wait for news about Season 2. Our bet is Cephelo (James Remar), since he was last spotted dying from a bullet wound during a troll attack.

Bandon’s (Marcus Vanco) fate has taken a dark turn as well. Using Catania (Brooke Williams) as an accomplice to escape the palace prison, Bandon strikes out on his own after murdering his elven guard. He is last seen looking devilishly demonic, slating him in a perfect position to be the series’ new big bad.

As for Wil and Amberele, shippers will be happy to know that this fan-favorite couple got one sexy night of happiness together before it all went south. Their exchanged “I love you’s” turn out to be exactly the encouragement Amberle needs to make her sacrifice. While Wil fights off the Dagda Mor and his demon army, Amberle sacrifices herself to become the next Ellcrys.

The tree comes back to life and the demon army is defeated, but it’s all at the cost of the Princess of Arborlon.

Does this mean Amberle is dead? Will we ever see her again? Can Wil ever hope to find Eretria now that she’s been captured by unnamed trolls?

MTV better hurry up and renew “The Shannara Chronicles” or fans will be left with a lot of unanswered questions.
