Things are heating up on “The Shannara Chronicles,” between more than one couple!

The love triangle that’s been brewing between Eretria (Ivana Baquero), Wil (Austin Butler), and Amberle (Poppy Drayton) finally tipped to one side, when Wil gives in to his feelings for Eretria. Unfortunately, after their passionate interlude, the Rover girl shows her true colors and robs Wil of his elfstones yet again.

It’s hard to get a good grasp on Eretria’s motives, since she is such a complex character. She seems to have no allegiance to her so-called father, while her feelings for Wil grow every day.

Just because Wil and Eretria are the first to take the romantic leap, it doesn’t mean Amberle is out of the game just yet. The princess is more than a little upset to hear about her friend’s conquest, even if she can’t admit her jealousy just yet.

Leave it to Eretria to reveal the truth in the most brutal way possible, “You should know that the ‘struggle’ was mutual and lasted about an hour.”

You also can’t discount Amberle’s vision inside the Elcrys. It’s certainly no coincidence that Wil was the one the tree chose to show her, as it urged her not to let her emotions get in the way of her mission; even at the cost of Wil’s life.

Fortunately for love triangle lovers, we’re nowhere near the end of the road when it comes to these three and their twisted romance. The princess, the elf, and the rover make an interesting threesome on their journey to Safehold. And with a murderous Changeling still alive and hot on their trail, these heroes might be in even more danger than they know.

Absent from their caravan is Bandon (Marcus Vanco) and Allanon (Manu Bennett), the only two members of the group who have any kind of mastery over their magical abilities. We can only hope Wil learns to use those elfstones before Eretria swipes them again. Or before the next demon attack.

“The Shannara Chronicles” airs Tuesdays at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
