Following in the wake of news breaking that Stephen Collins is under investigation for child molestation, the former “7th Heaven” actor has been cut from yet another project. Zap2it confirms that Collins was supposed to reprise his role as anchorman Reed Wallace in “Scandal” Season 4, but due to the allegations his appearance has been cut.
originally broke the story, and an ABC rep told the site, “We can confirm that we will not be airing any footage with Stephen Collins.” Zap2it has learned that Wallace was slated to appear in one episode later in the season, and that producers are currently at work on a creative solution to try to get around the absence of the character.
Collins had previously appeared on “Scandal” Season 2, episode 8 “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.” He had tweeted his enthusiasm to return to the series back in September.
In addition to losing the “Scandal” role, Collins has also been dropped from “Ted 2.”
The investigation into his alleged “inappropriate sexual contact with minors” is ongoing. After a recording was leaked of Collins confessing to the actions during a joint therapy session with wife Faye Grant, the backlash to the actor has been swift, and even resulted in a false suicide report
