Zap2it attended a special press screening of “Supergirl” near the end of Season 1, and afterwards, members of the press got to pick the brains of Executive Producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti about what’s to come in Season 2.
Many of the details are still hush-hush, but a classic DC comics actress is making her way to the “Supergirl” series. “We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter,” says Berlanti, “and we couldn’t work [it] out [because of] her schedule.” He adds, “That’s the biggest disappointment for me for this entire season.”
“We’re going to do it,” Kreisberg insists. “We’ll just do it next year.”
Kreisberg has stayed true to his word. The CW announced on Tuesday (June 21) that Carter is locked for a multiple episode arc and will make her premiere on the series in Season 2, episode 3.
So, what role will the “Wonder Woman” actress be playing? Audiences should get ready for some serious girl power as Carter will be visiting Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) in National City as the President of the United States.
The CW drama has had a lot fun incorporating past Superman related characters in different roles. There’s “Lois & Clark’s” Dean Cain, Helen Slater from 1984’s “Supergirl” movie and Laura Vandervoort, who took on the role of Kara in TV’s “Smallville.”
