“Supernatural: Bloodlines” was a spinoff of the popular CW series that the network chose not to move forward with in 2014. But take heart, “Supernatural” fans. There could still be another spinoff.
“We’d love to do one. It probably would not happen this year, but at some point there will be another swing,” CW president Mark Pedowitz tells Zap2it.
When Zap2it asks if he’s heard of “Wayward Daughters,” the female-centric spinoff idea that fans have been campaigning for that focuses on Sheriff Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes), Alex (Katherine Ramdeen) and Claire (Kathryn Newton), Pedowitz smiles brightly at the idea, but says he hasn’t heard of “Wayward Daughters.”
“I have not [heard of that]!” Pedowitz exclaims. “That I’ve not heard, but I know the characters very well.”
As for the mothership, Pedowitz also tells the 2015 TCA summer press tour that it’ll go on as long as the guys want to do it.
“If the numbers hold, the guys wanna do it, we’re in,” says Pedowitz. “They’ve done a terrific job, and I’m very excited about the guys wanting to keep on doing it. They bring fresh enthusiasm to it each week. Jeremy Carver, Adam Glass, Eric Kripke, their team, how they do it year in and year out is great.”
“Supernatural” returns Wednesday, Oct 7 on The CW.
