The reigning queen of pop music held the honor of opening the 58th Annual Grammy Awards on Monday (Feb. 15), and she gave a high-energy, solid performance of her hit “Out of the Woods” with friend and song collaborator Jack Antonoff playing guitar. However, something must’ve gone wrong because by the time Swift returned to her seat, she was crying.
Cameras caught video of the Album of the Year winner wiping away a tear as her best friend and red carpet buddy Selena Gomez comforted her and gently placed her head on Swift’s shoulder.
What could’ve possibly happened? She looked absolutely stunning, and Kanye West was nowhere in sight. Boyfriend Calvin Harris met up with her at the after parties. Maybe she was just feeling emotional on the big night, and like any normal human, felt her performance wasn’t quite good enough.
Cry no more, Taylor Swift. The performance was great.
