Itching for the return of “Game of Thrones,” but also in the mood for several laughs? Then watch this outstanding “GoT” homage/parody from Sunday’s (March 1) epsiode of “Bob’s Burgers.”
In the episode, a heartbroken Aunt Gayle (guest voice Megan Mullally) offers to take one of the Belcher kids to Yarnival, which is “Cirque du Soleil, but with cats.” The children, however, are all grounded for reasons clear (at first, anyway) only to Linda.
They each write stories featuring Gayle, action, adventure (and Scott Bakula), and they’re all great. Louise, however, takes the prize with her story “Gayle of Thrones.”
The story has everything a “GoT” and “Bob’s Burgers” fan could want — cat-dragons, a pint-sized warrior, numerous sly references to “Game of Thrones” mythology (as filtered through the mind of Louise, who’s never actually seen the show) and Bob as Bobdor. (Gene’s Nashville story and Louise’s “Lady Chatterteeth’s Lover” are equally good — Gayle really had a tough choice to make here.)
Watch “Gayle of Thrones” above. “Bob’s Burgers” airs at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT Sundays on FOX, and “Game of Thrones” returns to HBO on April 12.
