Annie Parisse: I did two seasons, and it was a very dark ending for me.

Zap2it: Though you became known on TV, you do a lot of stage work. Where have you worked?

Annie Parisse: I just did six months on Broadway in “Clybourne Park.” And first we did it at Playwrights Horizon (off-Broadway). I did the Rubicon Theatre (Ventura, Calif.). Theater is such a special place for actors.

Zap2it: Where are you from?

Annie Parisse: I was born in Alaska and grew up in Seattle.

Zap2it: What was your reaction to reading the pilot for “The Following”?

Annie Parisse
: It was very, very scary. I read it, then watched the pilot.

Zap2it: How do you describe your character, Debra Parker?

Annie Parisse: I am an academic brought in to consult and lead in the investigation of Joe Carroll. I am in charge of Kevin Bacon’s character. I wonder what he would say to that. I am trying to keep that man in line.

Zap2it: Are you a fan of this genre?

Annie Parisse: One of my favorite classes was horror in theater and psychology.

Zap2it: Where and what did you study?

Annie Parisse: BFA in theater at Fordham.

Zap2it: Does this show scare you?

Annie Parisse: I am not that easily scared because of knowing the genre, and I was so scared. What they do in the pilot is shocking.

Zap2it: How do you see the show evolving over the season?

Annie Parisse: As it goes on, it feels like all of us are continuously getting our comeuppance.
