Zap2it: Having joined the regular cast of “Army Wives” recently — you’re in it through the end of this season — but have you been given any idea what will happen after that?
Kelli Williams: The life of the show is sort of up in the air. There’s always, of course, speculation around what’s going to happen. I figure I’ll enjoy these few months, then we’ll see.
Zap2it: You did a now-rare series guest turn on CBS’ “The Mentalist” this season. How did that go for you?
A: That turned out to be fun, and Brian McNamara (who also stars on “Army Wives”) and I played brother and sister. I hadn’t worked for a little while, and I’d been doing drop-offs and pickups [of children at school], so I thought it would be fun to go and hang out there for a week. They were great, but it was pretty intense. I had to freak out on camera a few times. That tends to happen to me. I don’t know what that says about me.
Zap2it: Have you had a chance to see NBC’s Harry’s Law,” the latest show from producer David E. Kelley, who you worked for during your years on ABC’s The Practice?
A: No, and I really don’t know why I haven’t seen it, though I have to say I don’t watch a lot of series. I watch a lot of movies on TV, but my kids are pretty young still … and when the TV’s on, they kind of have control of that clicker. I see a lot of kid programming. [David’s] writing was just out of this world. It was all that legalese, and I was spoiled early on.
