For the first time in its entire run, “The Simpsons” is going to be live. The final three minutes of the May 15 episode will be a live scene featuring Homer Simpson as he comments on current events and takes questions from fans via telephone and social media.

The best part? He’s doing it live twice, for both the east and west coasts. If you’re a “Simpsons” fan dying to get Homer’s advice on something, anything, you are going to want to call (888) 726-6660 to try to get through.

Is Homer someone you should really be seeking advice from, though? If the video above — featuring a collection of advice Homer’s given out over the years — is any indication, you definitely should not.

Do you really want life guidance from a guy that doles out sage bits of wisdom like, “A woman is more like a beer. They smell good, they look good and you’d step over your own mother just to get one!”

Probably not. That said, we can’t wait to see what Homer has to say when “The Simpsons” goes live on Sunday, May 15, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.

TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
