Sawyer Fredericks has won over “The Voice” audience once again. During Monday (April 20) night’s show, the 16-year-old farm boy performed The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris” with his own raspy spin.

Holding his guitar, he took to the stage with a group of violinists and put his usual emotion and power behind the song. What really made this particular performance standout from his previous ones was that he brought his voice to a new level and proved that he can do more that just sing soft melodies while sitting on a chair. He proved he can rock out.

His rendition of “Iris” was so strong that he was able to make his way to the top of the iTunes charts. At the time of posting, Fredericks’ version is currently sitting in the  No. 1 spot in the rock section of iTunes, and the No. 4 spot overall. In addition to his iTunes domination, his performance garnered support from his many fans on Twitter.

Combining his ranking on the iTunes charts and his overwhelming fan support with the fact that Christina Aguilera thinks Fredericks is a “frontrunner” in this competition, and it looks like the young singer will be sticking around in this competition for quite a bit longer.

“The Voice” airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
