With “Fear the Walking Dead” breaking cable ratings records, AMC is primed to remind viewers that its sister show, “The Walking Dead,” is only months away from premiering.
The “Walking Dead” France YouTube account posted a new video, titled “We Are One,” that highlights the returning cast members in Season 6. Starting with Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon and working through Danai Gurira as Michonne and Melissa McBride as Carol, the video ends with close-ups of characters pivotal to Season 6’s story: Lennie James as Morgan and Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes.
It’s Morgan and Rick who seemingly will define the moral dilemma at the beginning of the new season. The Morgan who entered Alexandria seems to be a zen warrior, while Rick has come to terms with his kill-or-be-killed mantra that clicked into focus when he killed Pete in the Season 5 finale. A Season 6 trailer released at San Diego Comic-Con highlighted their battle of wills.
“If you wanted to draw a line of what’s the difference between Rick and Morgan, [it’s] that Rick has woken up every morning thinking to himself, ‘What can I do for the group?’ and Morgan has woken up every morning since he lost his son thinking, ‘What can I do for myself?’” James tells Zap2it during a group interview at Comic-Con. “Now he’s with a bunch of other people he doesn’t know. He’s calm and trying to be the person that he seems to have become right now.”
“The Walking Dead” Season 6 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
