jamie anderson olympics tinder gi Tinder use rampant in Olympic Village among female athletes

The 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics are in full swing, and so is the hooking up in Olympic Village. Or, at least the browsing of potential hookups.

Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson, 22, tells Us Weekly that she and her fellow female athletes were spending so much time using the dating app Tinder to scout out their male prospects that Anderson had to remove the application from her phone entirely.

“There was a point where I had to be like OK, this is way too distracting,” she tells the magazine. “I deleted my account to focus on the Olympics.”

Fortunately the focus away from attractive men and onto her sport worked, as Anderson took home the gold medal in the women’s slopestyle event on Feb. 9. Maybe now she can celebrate with reinstalling the app.

“Tinder in the Olympic Village is next level. It’s all athletes! In the mountain village it’s all athletes. It’s hilarious. There are some cuties on there,” Anderson tells Us of the Tinder playing field.

Of her win, Anderson says she plans to “go out with all my girlfriends and dance” when she goes home because there is “nowhere to go out” in Sochi. Except the gay bar where all the journalists are at, of course.
