On Wednesday (Feb. 24), TLC premieres its new reality series, "Fat Chance." The show follows eight individuals who attempt to both lose weight and find love.
Each episode focuses on a different person and in the premiere episode, audiences will meet 38-year-old Daniel. The single father of two boys is still very much in love with his childhood crush, and can't seem to get a handle on his weight.
Between working full time and raising his kids, Daniel says he doesn't have time to work out. He tops the scale at 304 pounds.
"Wow," the trainer says upon find out Daniel weight. "You can't be [almost] 40 years-old and 300 pounds, he says in the video. "Because, 50 might not come."
"This will be the hardest thing he does in his life," the trainer confesses to the camera.
Daniel's goal in the next three months is to both lose 84 pounds and to gain the courage to ask out Christina, his childhood crush.
"I'd love to be able to be one of those guy who can take his shirt off at the beach and get stares from other women out there," Daniel confesses while looking in the mirror.
However, he only has eyes for the woman from his childhood, Christina, whom he feels has put him in the friend zone because of his appearance. He's aiming to take it to a romantic level. But first, he wants to get in the best shape of his life.
